"Fashion for A Reason"
On September 12, 2016 JAKE, a San Francisco-based luxury fashion brand
by Designer Jake of Project Runway, in collaboration with the Drever Family Foundation,
announced “FASHION for a REASON”. JAKE debuted “The NIGHT CIRCUS” Fall/Winter
Couture Collection in a celebration of the San Francisco Arts Community,
including the unveiling of a hand-painted mural on the side of the JAKE
Flagship store in Jackson Square. The celebratory evening was followed by an experiential
after-party at The Battery penthouse. The
Drever Family Foundation and JAKE partnered together for this event to bring together
the art and fashion industries.
JAKE is an upstart luxury fashion brand that provides beautiful
yet functional clothes designed to fit perfectly into a life less ordinary.
Designed and finished in San Francisco, California, JAKE’s clothing is classic
– yet modern – with a defiant twist. Founded by Jake Wall and Nathan Johnson,
JAKE offers custom suiting, shirting, and separates for men and women as
well as couture gowns, cocktail, jumpsuits and bridal for women. Alongside the
brands custom division is the brand’s signature wearNOW! ready-to-wear capsule
collections. These original creations appear at some of the most
fashionable special events and weddings as well as on notable personalities –
including Designer Jake’s time on Lifetime’s Emmy Award Winning Project Runway
and E! Entertainment’s Fashion Police host Margaret Cho and sports superstar
Andre Iguodala. The unlikely fashion duo of Jake and Nate recently added fellow
Project Runway castmate Blake Patterson to the brand to create an inspiring
motley crew that is dedicated to making extraordinary clothes for extraordinary
people.
Founded by Maxwell and Jan Drever, the Drever Family Foundation is
a private philanthropic organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life
by supporting education and the Arts. In hosting events such as the annual
Hotbed Benefit Gala for 10,000 Degrees and Planet Hope, and other fundraising
activities, DFF generates additional financial support through the generosity
of the foundation’s donors, sponsors and friends, touching the lives of thousands
of young people at home and abroad. To earn more, visit www.dreverfamilyfoundation.org.
Founded in 1993 by sisters Kelly & Sharon Stone, Planet Hope
is a non-profit that provides outreach and educational resources to homeless,
abused, and terminally ill children. Planet Hope Programs include:
Summer Camp, Food and Warmth Resources, Emergency Referral Programs and Hope
for the Holidays - a core Planet Hope program. Each year 12,000 gifts and toys
are given to homeless children, children living in abuse shelters, and children
with terminal diseases living in hospitals. Over the last 20 years, Planet Hope
has provided more than 150,000 toys wrapped by volunteers and personalized with
a nametag for each child. With a foundation in Los Angeles and thanks to the
assistance of the Drever Family Foundation, Planet Hope has recently expanded
its reach to include offerings in San Francisco/Bay Area leading up to this
next year’s HOTBED Benefit 2017.
