Link: Pattern Layering - Making A Bold Statement
The guys over at Hucklebury Clothes and The Art of Style recently reached out to me and have been a tremendous help with my blog. I had the pleasure to be a guest writer on their site. They asked me to write an article regarding layering patterns.
Usually writing articles comes pretty naturally, but this topic gave me extreme difficulty. The thing with patterns is that there's so many different ways to wear them that I didn't want to pigeon-hole a reader into specific rules. Rather, I wanted to provide guidelines and inspiration.
Hope you guys enjoy it and thank you for reading.

::Big Bro::
My little bro and I recently celebrated our one year anniversary with the Big Brother/Big Sister program. To celebrate, I wanted to do something fun, but still have it educational.
He had never been to an art museum, so off to The Crocker we went. He's still pretty young, so he enjoyed the art more than the description or history behind it.
My little bro recently got a cell phone, so he was snapping pics of everything. I'm trying to capture all of our activities and all his new experiences, so I took the opportunity to snap as many pics as I could.

I always think about how young he is, but then he'll say something like, "I like your man satchel," and I'll be taken back of how much he knows. He gave me a hard time about it, but it was all in good fun.
It was funny how much he got into taking pics. He even started posing and figuring out cool places to take pics.

::Spring Blues::
It seems mother nature can't make up her mind. It's sunny and warm one day, next day it's raining again. However, this gave me the opportunity to use a vintage style sweatshirt that I had picked up for next winter season.
It's a distressed styled sweater that will look better over time with more distressing and fading.
As always, thanking for reading.

::Blue Blazer:Look Two::
Update:
Thank you to IFB for choosing me for this weeks Links a la Mode. You guys are a great site and great resource.
This is part two of a three part shoot. In shoot one, I dressed up the blue blazer (::Blue Blazer:Look One::). This look is the in between of the dress up or dress down versatility of the blue blazer.

I did a similar look last fall, pairing the blazer with white denim. You can honestly pair it with any type of denim, but if the blazer is trim and fitted, then keep the denim looking the same way. White denim is a great look during the day, then throw on a dark pair for a night look.

Below are the winners and their links. Congrats to all.
Spring Fever
Yesterday Spring officially sprung. While some of us are spring cleaning, some of us are coveting the trends and outfits we can wear with warmer weather. I know I'm into it after a cold winter! Anyway, we've got a really great mix this week. From learning what exactly "Haute Couture" means, to various explorations of all the Spring Trends for this year, some really great remixes how to take it all in with your camera phone. I'd say it's a great way to kick off the season, and hopefully you're as excited as I am! Now... let's get started!Links à la Mode: March 21, 2013

No real story behind this one. Just a back logged shoot that never got posted. It's finally getting warm here, but I know it's still chilly in other parts of the states.

::Khaki & T::
Went on a small getaway this past weekend to the coast. The weather was beautiful so I didn't have to bundle up like usual.
Some of you guys know I love to paint, but one of my other artistic outlets is designing tee-shirts. I've never really taken it seriously and have done a couple pieces here and there. Here is my latest design.
As always, thank you for reading.
