::Vintage Summer::

     I like to play with different themes and concepts when organizing an outfit and shoot.  This shoot, in particular, was inspired by two instragram competitions I'm currently trying to win.  The first is a paid round-trip to Marquee Club in Las Vegas, and since my fist-pumping dance days are quickly coming to an end, it was just too tempting to pass up on.  Submissions for this contest required a summer concept, but I didn't want a cliche summer day or afternoon at the beach.

     The second competition is for a men's fashion magazine that required a summer themed photo with a fedora.  When I think of a fedora, I think hot Southern summers or vintage Havana, so I thought this would be a great theme for both competitions.  To add to the vintage feel, I shot this lookbook in a stylized form.

::Patterns::

     Is a summer scarf really an oxymoron? I say no.  As long as it's not blistering outside, a summer scarf adds texture and color.  Just make sure it's made of light materials such as cotton, linen, or modal and stay away from the heavy materials of fall and winter.  Lastly, remember to choose light and colorful prints.

     Had a hard week?
     
     Need a good laugh?

     Well, I recently had to submit a video as part of modeling gig.  They needed to see me decorating a cake, so I took the opportunity to have some fun and make it a little more interesting than just an awkward video of me just putting frosting on a cake.

::Stripes::

     I had the pleasure to finally stay at Hotel Valencia, Santana Row in San Jose.  Although I have never been to Italy, from the balcony, it felt like looking into the canals of Venice.

     To play off the sea side feel of Hotel Valencia and Santana Row, it was only appropriate to sport a naval striped shirt.  To continue the spring feel, I paired the naval shirt with bright chinos.

2013 Spring Fashion Show by SFA

    Sacramento State will be presenting their 2013 Fashion Show this Friday, April 12th.  Come support young local student designers.  I will be proudly modeling for one of the designers.

::Spring Rain::

     Another Spring day, another stint of rain; it's like living in Seattle.  It's ok though, I am one of those people that embrace the occasional spring and summer showers.  

     Other than the start of The Master's, I look forward to the Spring blooms of April.  One of the hottest pattern trends for this Spring and Summer is floral, so here is my ode to floral.

::Red Loafer::

     On one of my coastal trips, I made a stop at San Jose on my way home.  Winchester mystery house is this funky little tourist attraction right by Santana Row.  It's a 1900s home smack in the middle of the city.  

     You're not allowed to take pictures inside, but there is a beautiful garden surrounding the grounds.  Winchester is a fun stop if you're ever in San Jose.
